The mind
A PhD in why timber behaves, and twenty years making it behave.
Most carpenters learn by repetition: this joint, that fixing, this combination. Reza did that too, twenty years of it. Then he did a PhD in civil engineering and started asking why each of those rules existed.
It turns out the answer is always loads, materials science, or tolerance. Understand those three and you can read a problem the way a structural engineer reads it, then solve it the way a craftsman solves it.
That's the whole offer: an engineer's diagnosis with a chippy's hands. Sydney has a lot of either; not many of both.

All of Greater Sydney. We're based in Beaumont Hills in North-West Sydney; common job locations are Castle Hill, Kellyville, Dural, Glenhaven, the Hills District, the Upper North Shore, and the Lower North Shore.
Yes, that's where the civil engineering background matters most. Spans, footings, connections, wind-load cases, sized properly the first time, compliant with the National Construction Code and AS 1684.
For furniture and joinery: American oak, American walnut, Tasmanian oak. For decking: blackbutt (Class 1 above-ground, BAL-29 rated). For structural and exposed work: spotted gum (F22 stress-grade). We choose the species for what it has to do, not the other way around.
For pergolas, decks and structural work that needs a Complying Development Certificate or DA, we work with a private certifier and (where required) a structural engineer to get the paperwork through. We coordinate that for you.
Two years on workmanship, see the warranty page for the full terms. This is in addition to your statutory rights under Australian Consumer Law and the NSW Home Building Act, which provide longer statutory warranties on residential building works.
Quotes are fixed-price after the site visit. Typical schedule under the NSW Home Building Act: 10% deposit on acceptance (the statutory cap on residential building work over $20,000), progress payment at materials ordered, balance on completion. Bank transfer preferred; credit card accepted with a 1.5% surcharge.
Yes, restoration is one of our core services. We match profiles, species, and patina so the repair disappears. Bring photos and (ideally) an offcut of the original timber.
Yes, NSW Home Building Licence + full public liability and workers' compensation insurance. We'll provide copies before any contract.
